Phil "The Fish" Jackson
The Phil "The Fish" Jackson memorial trophy will be fished for on an annual basis and will be awarded to the member who records the highest match weight during the course of the season.
This annual trophy will be used for the presentation and photos but will be then held by the club. The winner will receive a wooden shield to keep.
My words about Phil are on the "In Memorial" page. I can't add more but I asked Chrissie to say a few words, they are very moving to say the least.
Rob has asked me to say a few words about Phil,
Only a few words!!! I’ve got loads only they are not printable (just kidding).
Phil would be glowing with pride if he knew a trophy with his name on it was going to be presented as a memorial to him, as am I.
Phil loved anything funny and quirky just like you guys at reel people.
He loved the club and was a very accomplished angler hence the name Phil "the fish" Jackson, his knowledge was second to none and he was happy to help anyone who asked, he loved the tranquillity by the lakes and of course the wildlife, he had been with the club for many years and was on the committee, when Phil and I decided to tie the knot he said you do realise that fishing comes first, with a smile on his face, and believe me I have seen Phil as poorly as he was at times get up and dressed for fishing and not able to make it. He loved the camaraderie within the club and at this point I would like to thank you for making me welcome and giving me grief over the raffle I loved every minute thank you all.
